What if it rains?
Well, if it’s just a little light rain we’ll just go anyway. We’ve got umbrellas and blankets so you’ll be just fine. If it’s a torrential downpour we’ll see you in the pub!
What if I can’t make my booking?
If you’ve made a booking we expect to see you, however if there’s a problem please do give us a call. Please note there is a 24 hour cancellation policy.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes indeed we do. We run a payment in advance system here and you can pay using any card via our PayPal system.
Do you do self hire?
No we do not.
Can I just turn up?
We are a professional organisation and like to prepare our punts well in advance of our tours so we do require a minimum of 24 hours notice to make a booking.
When is the latest I can book a tour?
Get in touch and we will see what we can do. Really we need 24 hours notice to make a booking.
Do I get a ticket?
No you don’t. Just turn up at the meeting point in plenty of time and give us your name and you will already be in the book. We are well organised and if we’ve confirmed a booking with you we will be there to give you the best experience possible.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Of course you can, that’s no problem at all. Please don’t feed the chauffeur as we try and keep them lean! They do gracefully receive tips however!
Can we decorate the punt?
You are very welcome to decorate the punt yourself.
What days are you open?
We run all day and every day all year round (except Christmas Day).
Is it safe for children?
It sure is. There is no minimum age and we can provide life jackets upon request, however this is quite unusual. You can stand up in the river in places.
Can we leave a bag, pram or stroller somewhere before we go?
We do have a storage facility; however it’s easy enough to put this sort of item in the punt for the tour.
Should I tip the guide?
There is no obligation to tip what-so-ever, however if you’ve enjoyed yourself it is common to tip.
How difficult is it to go on a punting tour?
If you can sit on the floor and get back up again (even with a bit of help) then you will be just fine.
Is there disabled access?
We can’t wheel a chair onto a punt but it is possible to lift someone into a punt.
Are the tours always up and back or can you go one way?
Our tours are private and so we can do whatever you’d like, however we’ve got a popular route.
Can we give punting a go ourselves during the private tour?
That’s absolutely no problem at all and in fact the chauffeur often offers a bit of tuition if you’re interested in giving it a go yourself. Be warned it’s not as easy as we make it look!
